Alright, I'll be honest. It's been a long ass time since I played a Forza game and I do not have access to an X-one yet... Until the end of September, when I could go up to Redmond and buy an Xbone.

Any of you Oppos willing to give me the heads up of what's new? Pls? Here's an Aventador party! :C

Sure I'm loving mine. I'll give you my usual advice. Exclusive first, then features then price.

Are there any other games besides Forza that you want which are Xbox exclusive?

Will you take advantage of the Xbox One's features like the TV input, Multitasking and the Fitness programs?

Can you find a cheap bundle?

If the answer if no to the first two, then look what provides the best value between a PC, a PS4 and a Xbox one. Last time I checked Amazon have dozens of bundles.

All in all if you need a new machine to play games on for the next decade I say get an Xbox One.

This is how I went through my 360. I bought one just for Forza 4 and I already had a PC and a PS3. After owning it for 6 months I just couldn't justify keeping it for one game. If you can only have one video game system I recommend a PC. While the upfront investment may be steep they pay themselves off fast with steam sales and have far many more uses than any console.

Oh steam sales, the wondrous bollocks defence of PC gaming. I bought L.A Noire for £3 last week for my 360, console games are cheap as well.

I would usually recommend a PC but it is not as simple as get a PC as I have found out. People refuse to buy used (I did, saved a £1000) and it still works (its really loud but I can play Tomb Raider on high setting at 60fps). They always want to either buy new (don't it costs way too much) or build it themselves (only if you know a guy/girl). If people just want to play games I just say buy a console now. IMO the only real advantage PCs have with regards to gaming is Mods (but damn Fall from Heaven was good).

I've actually considered getting a few other games so that's a yes to one.

I'm also considering streaming if that counts for two.... And there's a fitness program? What?

I just mention steam sales because I know the most hesitant console gamers ears perk up at how much games cost on PC. Personally I like having a desktop PC setup for gaming because it also makes anything else I do PC related that much faster. I also like the better graphics on PC and I prefer playing first person shooters on PC. I know computers like everything else cost more over there but it's really not that hard to build one, even for a lay person and all brand new components don't even cost that much here. I could build a reasonable system for around $500.

Streaming on the consoles is meh at best, you really need to buy professional equipment to produce high quality media but if you just want to show a game to your friend who is more than 50 metres away it is perfectly serviceable.

Xbox Fitness. While the Kinect sucks as twitch gaming it is the master for full body stuff like dancing and exercise. Xbox Fitness is an insanely well done piece of software for getting fit. Basically imagine those Fitness DVDs that cost £200 (or your regional equivelent) but this tracks your heart rate (just by looking at you) and gives you real time instructions and guidance on what to do. However while it is the best way to get fit at home bar none, it is way too serious, just go to a gym. If you want to get fit at home buy Dance Central. All other Dance games on the market are a 3/10 (they don't work) where as Dance central is a 9/10 (Lacks online multiplayer).

Seriously I love Dance Central only Forza and Fifa have more hours logged.

In the US I believe PC games are usually $10 less which is nice unfortunately for me in the UK PC games are priced the same as Console games which sucks unless you buy digital on console which includes a £15 tax.

Yeah if you want graphics get a PC there is no debate to be had. (I stopped caring as when I did I blew off Fallout 3 because it looked weird, 400 hours later, I think I have seen the error of my ways).

Building a PC is very cheap these days but easy for the lay person I disagree. A friend of mine tried it and it was going well until it wasn't. Identifying what is wrong is really hard if you not really into computers and asking for advice on the web is like kicking a Hornet's nest, always stuff like "why did you go AMD, Nvidia is for real men with two dicks". Like I said you need a Guy/Girl and unfortunately for my friend I wasn't the guy.

If you are willing to put in the effort PC gaming is awesome however if you aren't it becomes a case of monthly checks, cleaning and upgrading contrast that to my original launch 20GB 360 which is still working.

day 1 games typically cost the same on all systems. The difference is how fast prices drop on PC especially if sales are less than expected. You can also get cheap PC games from good old games and humble bundle. I've probably bought half of my PC games via humble bundle getting 6 or more games for under $10. The winter and summer steam sales are pretty great too.

I do like the Humble Bundle but the vast majority of the time I just use a CD key shop.

If you build to the appropriate target, you don't have to upgrade your PC at all. Spend the cash up front for a high-end machine and you will be playing today's games at prettier settings than the consoles and this console generation's final games at the same settings said consoles would be pushing. My last PC, built in early '05, lasted until 2012 and played every game available on consoles at settings as good as or better than said consoles. It was awesome. The cost is made up by lower cost games (Steam sales are world-wide) and the lack of necessary subscriptions for what I consider to be fraudulent "services" simply to play games online.

As for troubleshooting, well, we're all here to help you out. :) And cleaning? Technically, your console is subject to that same requirement, and many people had Xbox 360s crap out due to fuzz.

All that said, I really, really find it hard to recommend either console. Compared to the Xbox 360 and PS3 when they were new, these latest consoles are not offering you anything new. Not really. Unlike their predecessors, their hardware isn't anywhere near the cutting edge. Their features are better had on PC or other dedicated platforms and their games so far have been pretty mediocre. The best I can recommend is...wait it out. In one or two years, the price will fall and more compelling software will be available.
